How Often Do YOu Clean DLT Tape Heads

I understand that it's not a good thing to do too often. How often do you clean the heads? Thanks.

I do it once a month. My DLTs had an average life of about 4 years, writting 70-90% of their capacity 5 times a week.

Basically DLT cleaning tapes are significantly more abrasive than ordinary DLT tapes so most drive manufacturers recommend you only run a DLT cleaning tape when the drive detects you need to and the use cleaning tape light comes on.
