Hi there,

Most of my users on win98 with office97 or office2000, & no budget to upgrade to wxp + office2k3.

In this case, if I plan to deploy SPS2003 to centralised all documents, can those old machines still interact with it (I know a lot of features will be gone)?

Many thanks!

This should be no problem at all, but like as you mention you will lack all the nifty shifty features that come with office 2003.

Interaction should be no problem because it's a webbased platform.

thx bart for easy my doubt! ;-)

I suggest you get a trial version, and verify if your business needs are fullfilled.

Like Bart says, you won't get all of the collaboration hooks that Office 2K3 brings to the table. If you open a Word doc from a Sharepoint workspace, Word 2K3 is aware of the workspace, and creates a collaboration pane (or "pain", depending on your viewpoint) that shows members of the workspace and Messenger status, announcements, document status, blah blah blah. You also get rudimentary check out/in. There's the rub: if you plan to do change control, it's not possible without the Office 2K3 hooks.

You're going to have serious trouble with document libraries and suchlike as well. You'll end up with users screaming at you cos all of these buttons, drop-downs and links just won't work, and you'll have no straightforward way to disable or remove them.
