I am running Windows XP on a 9.5GB hard drive, and before I use Partition Magic to make the two partitions needed for Mandrake 8.1, I would like to know how much space it takes. I don't want to dedicate too much space if it is not needed. I would like to keep as much as possible on my Win partition since this is what I use the most.

Every distro suggests minimum space for different types of installations- workstation, server, with or without source.
Mandrake 8.1 right on the outside of the box suggests minimum 500 MB (which sure isn't much nowadays, is it?) Tony Lawrence
