Hello...

I am BRAND NEW to linux and want to build (or buy used) a dedicated Linux box. The pc will mainly be used to provide network services for my home LAN...serving up DHCP, NAT, NTP...etc..maybe firewall also. I'd also like to load xwindows on this box...

My question is...can someone please recommend, spec out, what I'd need in terms of performance (RAM, Processor speed / type, etc.) to support Linux? Also any recommendations for a good distribution for a newbie like myself :) >> also like to run xwindows, so will the box need to be more robust?

I have an old 300Mhz PII w/ 64Megs of RAM that I've considered using...but I'm not sure it will be enough.

TIA!
