How might this affect VPNs? Hamachi purchased by Logmein

I came across this news earlier today, though apparently it was announced on their sites yesterday, but Logmein has purchased Hamachi. I wonder how this might affect the state of things; Logmein has a pretty big userbase with a lot of different types of people with a range of technical knowledge represented; do you think this might mean that your average joe might become more familiar with at least the concept of VPNs? I think it could. Either way I think this is going to benefit both companies handsomely
