How many times can I retake MS exam?

I'm going to take the 70-215 exam as part of MCSA. I'm wondering how many times and can fail and retake this test. Also, what are the penalties for failing the first test?

You can take a Microsoft exam as many times as you like until you pass it, but Microsoft do restrict the timeframe between attempts.

If you sign up for 2nd Shot and put the appropriate code in when you book the exam, if you fail it, you can take it a second time for free rather than paying a second exam fee.

When you sign up for the 2nd Shot, it will give you a promotion code. When you book an exam, it gives you the opportunity to put one in, if you have one.
This can affect exam fee that you pay.
