Also, what is the type of SQL used with DB2?

Cheers,

ANSI SQL-1 (a.k.a. SQL-89)
ANSI's first SQL standard published in 1989.
ANSI SQL-2 (a.k.a. SQL-92)
ANSI's second SQL standard published in 1992, considered to be the current standard which most DBMS's try to adhere by. ANSI SQL-3 (a.k.a. SQL-99)
ANSI's most recent standard. Few (if any) DBMS's are currently SQL-99 compliant.
If you have a relatively current version of DB2, then it is almost compliant with SQL92 - perhaps even the most compliant of all databases. Many database vendors have their own product extensions to improve performance/usability that are not part of the SQL standard. In some cases (I'm thinking of Microsoft now) these product extensions come at the expense of ANSI SQL compliance.

Thanks for the info. We are using DB2 ver 6 and I guess it might be SQL 2.
