is there a limit of short codes in small office?
i' d like to use short codes in the directory.can i?
the user could usea short number instead of composing THE ENTIRE NUMBER?
the IP Office does not have any firm limits to entrys in the CFG. it is dependent on memory available.
I can see no reason why a short code could niot be entered in the directory although I have never tested.
Yes a user can use a short code instead of the full number for example &I have a short code that enables me do dial company mobiles using the last for digits only
SC 5XXX
Number 0123456N
feature dial
or for a single number
Short code - 6000
Telephone number 012345678901
Feature Dial
thank you!
i tried to insert a short code in the directoy and it works(sc 600
number 0348........
dial)
do you think it's possible to insert a short number in the directory without having a short code,in other words can i only using the directory makeing a short number dial an entire number (a sort of sostitution of a short code)?
I have seen a IP Office once with 1850 ! shortcodes and about 250 users.
reason for me ( distributor ) to visit this site was the resetting of the IP Office at random times.
Decreasing the number of shortcodes to approx 1500 solved the resetting problem.
So, you cannot continue to add shortcodes without keeping track of the memory used in IP Office.
Some time ago a avaya specialist told me the size of the config can tell were the limits are but i cannot find this mail message anymore.
if i find it i will post it here.
In the 2.1 engineers toolkit, expand "Other information" and select the config size calculator tool. Input your details (number of ext, number of users, etc.) and play with the number of shortcode entries to see what your configs max is.
