Hi,
I am wondering the performance of the linux server because currently, i am running WinNT that serve 200+ exchange clients, proxy and dns server at the same machine. If I migrate from NT to Linux, can linux redhat 6.2 support more than 1 processor to serve 400+ clients. Thanks in advance.

support for multiple processors is two fold:

first, your hardware should be able to support more than one processor, so ensure that's ok..

second, the kernel u use for your Linux distro should also be able to have SMP [Symmetric Multiple Processing] support.... various releases of the 2.2 and 2.4 kernels do have SMP support, u just have to check and see if your distro comes with it, if not, u can download the kernel source code from kernel.org and compile it with SMP support, yourself.... there's always a solution...

regards.. AKNIT
