I recently installed a BCM 400 4.0. I set up a hunt group with 24 phones, and 1 target line. When the number is dialed, first person to answer gets the call. It all works great until 4 or 5 incomming calls happen at the same time, then whenever someone goes offhook to answer, there is about a 4 second delay in the call set up. Happens everytime we flood the system. Has anyone had the same experience or does anyone have documentation on this ?

I would open up the bcm monitor and see if the CPU is spiking.

CPU is not spiking, and I even doubled the ram and put in two more pec cards. Still no better.

Hunt group members are ring only, broadcast ring using ring type 4. I did try making the members appr and ring, but that didn't help either. The problems happens if i use 24 ip phones, or 24 digital sets. I have also used analog trunks and pri trunks. It always happens, no matter what. If I increase the number of phones, the delay gets longer. I have swapped the sytem out with another BCM. I'm pretty sure it is a design problem, but would like some confirmation.

I agree, probably a design problem. But, I have seen when too many telephones ring simultaneously, delay problems arise. I guess you can't use Linear or Round Robin?

I'm not sure if you can assign the same answer dn on 24 phones but it worth the try. Assign your target to one dn then assign that dn to all 24 sets.Don't forget to set cfna to a lower number of rings on the main dn then on all 24 others dn's.
