I have configured several Summit 5i switches with multiple VLANs, multiple ip addresses in multiple subnets. I have ipforwarding enabled on the VLANs that I want to route to each other. Currently they are just configured with a default gateway. In the future I plan on implemention OSPF. They are working fine now, but I am concerned with how they may perform under a heavier load. At some point soon, I would expect to have several hundred wireless broadband routers using these as gateways. They will be divided into /26 and /27 subnets.
Will I have performance problems with my switches when I have over 20 or 30 subnets assigned to VLANs?
