I have a query that i am using for a report i am running as letters. I have a total of 16 fields in the query and i need to add 4 more fields but it won't let me? how can i get around this? i need a query with 20 fields? Thanks, PAUL

the 'limit' is 255, but you need to use Ms. counting to really know how many there are. Me. Count includes 'objects' in addition to the actual 'fields' which are displayed, these include all indicies (sorting / grouping / having ... ) and (I think) joins. Still, the general effect is PROBABLY not the issue for a query w/ 16 'fields', so other issues are probably the problem.

When creating a new query, Access by default opens the Query Designer with 16 Columns.

The easiest solution I think, is to add your Fields by double-clicking on the Field Names that you want to include in your Query in the Field List's Window(s). These are the Windows that have your Table/Query Names as their Caption.
