Hi

How can I find out how many concurrent incoming and outgoing calls my avaya system can handle at any one time?

Is this related to the number of trunks?

Start with finding out how many copper lines you have on the system, or if you have a T-1/PRI and how many channels of the t-1 you are using. This will give you an idea of your capacity for outgoing and incoming.

If you have unused analog line trunks, they have a capacity of one call at a time.

If you have unused channels on a circuit, they have a capacitiy of one call per channel. A PRI may or may not be using all the channels activated. You will need to see what channels are in service on circuits.

The stated Busy Hour Call Complete figure for an IP406V2 is 27000 calls per hour. So if you've got enough friends to make and answer the calls go for it.

it depends on a few things

an analog trunk can handle one call at the time
a bri trunk can handle 2 calls because it has 2 channels
a E1-pri trunk can handle up to 30 calls (it depends on wich type 15,20 or 30)
a T1-pri can have 28 or 30 channels i believe
also if you use ip phones then also the amount of vcm channels is important
if you have a E1-pri with 30 channels but only a vcm 5 then no more than 5 ipphones can use that pri at the same time
so it not easy to say how many calls can be made without knowing this kind of information
