What is the general rule of thumb about how many computers should be on a single subnet? Clients range range from Win95 to WinXP and are on a single Win2K domain. Right now I have about 500 clients located in 7 buildings with fiber connections between buildings and all the buildings are on a 250 acre campus.

Would you subnet it or leave all the clients on one network?

I'd subnet for management reasons. it's alot easier to isolate problems, and just to manage in general.

I would use a class B address scheme, for example building 1's network address would be 128.10.0.0 building 2 would be 128.11.0.0 building 3 128.12.0.0 and so on.
I find this an easy way to manage your network plus you won;t run out of addresses.
