Just want to know if it's possible to have more than one cd-writer on a PC? Just happen to have 2 burners and would use either one to read and write.
Somehow the burn software would detect all but after you select one, it keeps sticking to just one and forgets the other (I use NTI software that comes with those Polaroid Burnmax32).
By the way, the other burner is a SCSI Yamaha.

Thanks for any pointers...

You can have the same ammount of burners as CDROMs. However, with most programs, one of the burners will be selected as default.
I dont see any real advantage of having more than one burner, unless you have some good software to utilize them at once. ~Apex1x

With disk juggler and a 4 channel scsi card theoretically 28. But the customer has 8 split 4/4 off 2 channels. Ed Fair

with multiple burners, and most of the burning software out there today, you would have to have multiple instances of your burning software active at once. one instance for each burner. or get a good program that will support multiple burners at once if you are trying to make multiple duplicates of a single object. knoweldge is power, spread the power

Yup. Multiple instances of burning software may work but if you dont have a high powered system I have two words- Buffer Underrun. ~Apex1x

The full retail version of Nero can simultaneously use 2 recorders at once. If you want to use more than 2 recorders at once Ahead software sells plug-ins to add more drive capability. They charge an extra $249 to use up to 7 drives, and $499 you can use 32 drives.
