I need to know if I setup Symposium 5.0 in the three server setup as requested by Nortel to achive higher availability, how long will take for symp server to go up if the main goes down? and what is the sequence of events

According to our vendor it is the amount of time that it takes you to change the IP address on the non-working machine and put it in the standby box. The databases should be kept current by mirroring.

so if create a heartbeat and a script that would take it over, it should happen instantly, correct?

Sounds good in theory. I wouldn't be surprised if calls in progress got trashed but that's a reasonable price to pay to have the redundancy.

Even in a normal HA solution the in-progress connection/call will be dropped. But it also is an acceptable alternative to Stratus megabucks solution!
