How is this done

Hi I have some flat logos that I need to offer a more dynamic option. I like the perspective and bulge done in the example of the ones in the below link, but if I try most Illustrator transform effects I cant get a nice even fish eye/bloat look like these. Any ideas how i would do this in Illy.

...look into the 3d extrude and bevel options in effects menu, then apply a warp effect and experiment, you'll then need to expand appearance (work on a copy) and then select elements to polish it off with color and shading, extra highlights etc...it will be a multi stage process to get a finished look, but that will get you started...
