How is n-way replication carried out in interbase

Could anyone explain how n-way replication is carried out in interbase.
The Help file available with Interbase 6.5 speaks about this.It tells about creating different user names and different conditions to be specified.
But it is not very clear how this whole method takes place.It would be helpful if someone explain this with a good example.
