How i can Zip a folder using DOS shell?

i want to zip a folder on DOS shell usig dos commands.
i think u understand my question. as we can copy files or folders by using dos commands like we can zip a folder?
please help me.

If you have winzip installed you can download the wzzip commandline utility to do the zipping. If you want to be cheap you can use the compress & expand programs from Microsoft to do the same thing.
 
get hold of pkzip dos version...

presuming it is in c:\ and the folder is called zipme...
:
c:\pkzip -expr c:\nameofzipfile c:\zipme\*.*
