I tried to reinstall Internet explorer and I have not succeded.
I folow the instruction from the following article:
and I still have the same message:
Setup has detected a newer version of Internet Explorer already installed on this system. Setup cannot continue
What should I do?
Thank you

You may have to uninstall service pack2 then reinstall internet explorer.Did you uninstall explorer through the add remove windows component's menu?
Goto start run type sfc /scannow (have xp disk close).
This will start the Windows file protection service and scan all protected files and verify their integrity, replacing any files which are a problem.

Starting with SP2, the IE can be reregistered... so depending on what problem you may have, try this first:

Goto Start, Run, then Type: IE /rereg

If it works don't fix it! If it doesn't use a sledgehammer...
