Fun fun fun!

You need to look into ADO, and it's a fairly complicated project!

I'd solve it all, by putting it on the same server! ;-)
Ben Marshalsea

hi alex!

i don't think it's a complicated project. however, it
looks like the responses to your previous post did not help.

all you have to do is to establish an odbc-connection
to the remote dbe and implement some standard asp-commands.
that's it.

-- ralf
Just create a USER DSN in your ODBC32 form Control panel on the Web Server, and then refer to it in you ASP using the DSN name you specified.
It really couldn't be any easier...
ahdkaw
ahdkaw@sensibilium.com
<a href=
Well as moving the access database on the same server is the best thing to do..an i prefer using system DSN..and as far as ur DB not on the same server..i think if a DSN is created it should work..but lemme chk it up..an get back to u..

Vinod
you can link to another DB on another server pointing to the DSNless or DSN connection to a virtual directory. The only problem I have had is the permission of the other server's directory.

David
If it's an Access database(not SQL or anything like that) you cannot connect remotely, access only works on the same machine. Use SQL Server if you need to connect off the machine.
Karl
kb244@kb244.8m.com
<a href=

Not true. You can access an Access database on any machine on your Lan, providing the security is set up correctly.
nick bulka

Go to settings->control panel->odbc data sources
create a system dsn
give the path of the database by choosing the network button.
It also depends on the database u are using, anyway Access database can be accessed from any machine on the LAN if you have Authorisation in LAN to do so.
