I am trying to install one Cognos product and it requires a user with the EXECUTE privileges on the following:
dbms_job, dbms_lock, dbms_utility, utl_inaddr, dbms_plugts


I am just wondering how safe it is to give privileges on these to another application?

what actually these objects do? I heard abt _JOB and rest all french for me. can someone help me please...
