HI,
I'm trying to use frames with flash and it's not working too well. in the left border, I have a flash movie of buttons that I want to link to html pages in the main frame. But whenever I click the buttons, it loads the referenced page in the same frame, losing the buttons. In the properties of the button I've given it a 'get' action, typed in the url to get, and in the 'window' parameter entered '_main', but still no joy. Is there any paramater or switch that will specify getting the url in the main window of a frames page and leaving the original left frame as is??

hope this isn't too confusing!! If you solve this one, I owe you a beer

I feel a thirst coming on!

It is a mismatch between your frame request in flash and your frame name within the frameset.

If you are requesting an on release get newpage.htm in frame _main, you need to name your main frame as _main if you see what I mean.

Check the frameset html source code for the entry:

<frame name=_main src="main.htm" target="main"> and ensure that name=_main

nice one - it worked perfectly, but I had to leave out the underscore for some reason, so it was just <frame name=main src="main.htm" target="main">

thanks again,

if you ever visit dublin . . .
