I am thinking about upgrading from Cat5 to 6 and was wondering if I could make longer runs with Cat6. I searched this forum as well as the Internet and came up with nothing telling me how far it can be ran. Travis McGuire

Cat6 is made to tighter standard for a high frequency.
Your network speed still is affected by the length of the run do to attenuation, so distance is still the same.
On a lighter note: heck run it as far as you want and then just keep cuting it shorter until you are able to get it to work.... now that would give you the max length )
