Hello. I couldnt find a sharepoint forum so I am posting here, apologies if posted incorrectly or please point me to the correct forum.
now for my Q.
I am a network admin and not a webmaster. I know someone who has a small office and wants to setup a windows 08 server and collaboration since he has a lot of mobile users.
deploying the server is not a problem, my q is collaboration which would involve sharepoint. W/out any webmaster skills, how difficult or easy is it to install and deploy sharepoint as is with it's default portal view and integrate with AD server 08?
I am aware that sharepoint is probably too much for this small office so are there any other alternative to collaboration? I was thinking google docs but that would require everyone in the firm to have a gmail account and somewhat more tedious and not to mention rely on the cloud.
