Hello Guys,

How does unmount the nfs share device?I tried following point in my terminal but problem is still there.

1=umount /jj (nfs share device was mounted as /jj).
2=Umount -F nfs /jj
3=unshare the share device from NFS server.
4=lockfs -h /jj
5=kill and start the lockd daemon.
6=edit the /etc/nscd.conf file and remove the comment from cache enable syntex for hosts and restart the nscd daemon.

If I stop the nfsd and mountd daemon from NFS Server.Than
I get the error message in client system(where NFS Share device was mounted)...NFS Server not responding.

Regd,
Ajay

Are you trying to umount from the client or do a unshare
from the nfs server?

Hello tuka,

Yes,I am trying to umount from client.But not able to umount
the device.

Regd,

AJay,

can you post exactly what happens when you "umount /jj" on the client?

Also, what do you get when you do "fuser -cu /jj" on the client? One by one, the penguins steal my sanity. X-)

Hello ayjaycee,

When I did umount /jj at client end got the error message /jj is busy and when I gave the command
fuser -cu /jj on client end I got the error message /jj: fuser: No such file or directory

Regd,
Ajay Lohani

OK - what does
[tt]ls -ld /jj[/tt]

and

[tt]df -k /jj[/tt]

give? (Sound like the system's a bit confused over this directory! One by one, the penguins steal my sanity. X-)
