Using PSP8, and also tested the PSP Photo X2 (but not bought it yet).
When I am correcting video capture pictures, the fade correction is by far the most often used and best tool.
It enhances the colour and contrast.
But very often it is too "aggressive" even if at the lowest value "1" !
It is simply too much, and gets dark and loses a lot.
So a value of 0,2 to 0,5 would seem to be better - but not possible...
Thats why it is very important for me to know the exact algorithm used to make a fade correction, as I use this feature every second day, on lots of pictures.
It says in the help that you could use "Automatic Colour Balance, Automatic Contrast Enhancement, Automatic Saturation Enhancement."
But have tried this, and NEVER been able to obtain the same result, as a simple "fade" with value 1 f.ex. Maybe because I dont know the values, or too difficult ?
So is the fade a sequence of single adjustments, or is it based on the histogram of the picture to be enhanced ? (adaptive ?)
If it is a sequence, then what are the values of the single steps ?
I have contacted Corel as I've bought two PSP8 versions (one for my company and one for myself) - but they answered that they would not support anything but an X2 version :-(
Can anyone clear up how to make a fade correction by means of a sequence of other single adjustments ?
I can provide some examples if this makes it easier ?
But maybe some already know the sequence, so will start asking that.
