How does table mapping work?

There is a table mapping not working in my universe. The table to be replaced is a table. I am replacing it with a view of the the table unioned with other tables. The replacement does not take place. What does BO look for to do the replacement? The table and the view have the same column names and types.

As long as the thing you are replacing it with is the same structure it should work.

Just in case:
Have you logged off of BO since you put the swap in place. It won't work until you've logged in again.
