I'm not quite sure of the question, so here goes. This question is a result of a discussion at work about our organisation having 3 different phone lists, rather than just one.

In Groupwise, I add addresses to my email headers, To, CC etc. When I am pointing at these addresses, I can see information about the individual's details. THat is, the Internal ones. Can I change the information people see about me? ie, at work, if someone moves to another desk and phone, their details are not changed in the address book. So, can I change my info in Groupwise? Where is it done? And, is it a database? Can it be printed out nicely like a PDF or word doc? (ie, Merged, I guess)
IT say it's not their job. HR say it's not their job...Everyone seems to be happy with 3 different address lists, one being out of date (groupwise). That is, everyone except a few of us who think it's a bit of a silly way to do things because we actaully use the GW info rather than picking up and leafing through paper records.

Thanks M

Stroppy,

Unless your IT department wants to give your HR department rights to modify user objects (which they almost certainly do NOT), then it IS their responsibility to update address book information.

Users cannot update information in the system address book themselves. It must be done from ConsoleOne (the network administration utility).

Sounds to me like it's the old "pass the buck" because "it's not my job" story. Well, if it's not IT's job, then it's nobody's job. Talk to the IT director and have them read this thread if needed.
