how does one export a list of printes listed in Active Directory

Can somebody please remove my mental block in regards to a method on carrying out an export of all printers that are listed in AD. I can effectively search for the printers but like other resources they are not availabe for viewing like other object for instance servers etc.

I would like a hard copy of all printers in the local domain. I would like to carry out a similar function to that of exporting a list of object inside a container that can be done via AD Users & Computers. That is Action - Export List.

I am unable to do this via AD U & C as printer objects are not visible even though in theory they are listed in the directory. For example through the configuration tab of a an HP printer you can list the printer in AD.

Is there another method of being able to export this information. I can search for all the servers via the search tool but there is no method of exporting this information

Well, that is why I am asking what you want to DO with it. If all you want is a printout then do a print screen from the browser.

If you are looking to gather this information for disaster recovery purposes then I would suggest a more robust solution.

If the latter is what you are going for then you should look at microsoft's PrintMig utility.

PrintMig will allow you to backup and restore printer configurations on the same server or different servers.
