I am an accountant and have a new client (of Chinese origin) and his Browser displays chinese characters in the Tool bars.

(i.e. Instead of the usual "File", "Edit", "View" etc. he has Chinese characters.)

He has no idea how it got like that and does not want it like that either.

I have been to Tools->InternetOptions->Languages and have "English (Australia) [en-au]" which doesnt appear to have any effect.

How does one change things?

Thanks in advance.

The Internet Options, Languages feature is to support the display of foreign language web pages.

Either he has installed a "localized" language version of Internet Explorer, or has Windows 2k or XP with the MUI feature. Or is using a "localized" version of Win2k or XP itself.

You can do a full download of IE in English:
I warn you that if the base OS version of Win2k or XP is a true localized language version, this may not work out well for your client.
