How does Notes email?

I have Lotus Notes on a web server and I was wanting to write some code (ASP.NET) which would send an email via Lotus Notes. What protocol does Lotus Notes use? SMTP?

You can use SMTP, POP3 or IMAP. The Domino server has all 3 available as server tasks. You would need to refer to the Notes Admin help for details on setting these up.

If you go the IBM home site you can download SW called DCO, Domino Collaberation Objects). If my memory serves me right then it has an ASP example with it
