How does fragsize of filesystem affect the database performance

df -g displays the fragsize.

What is fragsize and how does is relate to Oracle blocksize and unix pagesize?.

What are the best practices in setting this parameter?.

Currently, our system is set with fragsize 1K while the db_block_size is set to 8K (Oracle9i). There has been lot of talks in setting this fragsize same as db_block_size.

Any inputs will be appreciated.

It is solaris 8.

Uses Veritas cluster file system (DBEAC)
