It doesn't work.
Take the database Properties dialog box. On the beanie tab (the last one), you have a tic box for "Maintain LastAccess property".
With that, you would think that not having it ticked is the solution to your problem. Unfortunately it is not.
To check this, create a view in any database listing docs by a key value (ID or subject) and a second column with the @Accessed formula.
@Accessed is supposed to indicate the last date a document was read or written. Thus, if you open a doc, the @Accessed value should change to today.
You will observe that, whether or not you have ticked the above option in the database properties, opening the doc for reading does not change the value of @Accessed.

Therefor, at this point in time, @Accessed is just another function for @Modified.

What you need to do if you really require such functionality is include a bit of script in the PostOpen event of the form.
Said script should create a record with a doclink to the document, and maybe one or two key data field values (and the UNID).
That done, you can then create a view listing the records by key values, and arranging the form to open the first doclink.
So, when a user needs to check a doc by @accessed date, he can look up the view, double-click a record and the corresponding doc will be opened (which will create a new record).

As a side bonus, you will automatically get statistical data on which docs are accessed the most, which @Accessed is never supposed to give you anyway.

Pascal.
