I am still busy with converting a Unisys Cobol source to a AS/400 Cobol source. The conversions is done and the program is running. There is one but... This program uses a database and a temp. file. The temp. file is not a problem. I created one on the AS/400 and filled it with data. It does work, but it is not conform the given specifications. A database on a Unisys machine differs from that on a AS/400 (RDMS). My question is how a database is created/used/accessed. From the source and some very little info I think the database on a Unisys machine is accessed through acces-paths. I'd like to create a database on the AS/400 with physicals and logicals that acts the same way as the database on the AS/400. Than the conversion is 100%.
So I need to know the structure of a database on a Unisys machine. If someone can explain how it works, has info about it or has an URL where I can find such information, it would be great.

Many thanks in advance... and again I am all ears :^)

Di Basco,

You will need to find the DASDL source file for the database in question to attempt to determine a rudimentary schema.
A link you should find useful is:
You would be looking for manuals on DMSII and/or DASDL (Data and Structure Definition Language?) depending on the MCP level of the machine that this database is currently running at.
Good luck !
