How do you write a script to reference text to an image?

Hi, I'm trying to reference text such as "Refer to the picture on page ___" to an image on another page so in the case that the image needs to be moved, the page number will automatically update rather than having me edit the text manually. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can accomplish that? It would be really helpful, thank you very much!
