How Do You Update a Cookie Field

Hello Everyone,

I have a visitor cookie which is made up of the following three fields:

Field 1: visitor id
Field 2: affiliate referral id
Field 3: visitor type

visitor=22709492,21158,1

Please let me know if there is a special JavaScript feature that allows you to update specific fields of a cookie.

It there is no special cookie field updater then what would be the best way to update the affiliate referral id field of this visitor cookie?
