how do you unbind, tcp/ip from net card in WinXP

You cannot unbind/bind it to the network interface, but you can from the client service.
For this highlight the Network Connection you are interested in, and select Advanced from the top menu of Network Connections. You can uncheck to unbind or bind TCP/IP to any or all client services.
