Am using Delphi 7 and the shell treeview and listview. The program kept crashing after working for some time. I (think) I traced it mainly to the treeview refresh command but while doing so I had a go at using Task manager to keep an eye on the memory used in the program while it was running. It did indeed keep on increasing even when I unlinked the listview and just roamed the system using the treeview on its own! Then I looked at Windows Explorer and Task Manager says it does just the same! Eventually surely it must crash! Everywhere on the web says to use Memorysleuth to track leaks. I have the program from the D7 disks but no reg key. Any ideas?

you can use a replacement memory manager.
a very good one is fastmm:

it has the capacity to indicate memory leaks (and where it leaks)

Cheers,
Daddy
