Well we are trying to get our system to work, aswell as the bad media saga we are having a problem with the veritas 8.5 is is detecting 2 tape devices when there is only one attached??? Also when looking at tape devices on the control panel it says the device drivers have not started yet??? How can we stop it detecting 2 devices and get the drivers working....input would be much obliged!! We are having anightmare...

I would remove Vertias, reinstall Sp6 - sounds like your running NT4, and reinstall the backup exec. When reinstalling request that all devices use the ADMM - veritas drivers, ie its the only software running on the machine.
Why you are seeing 2 backup devices I have no idea, If you don;t want to remove and reinstall you could always try
tools
device configuration wizard
and get the software to detect what devices it sees.
