How would I set up a practice lab with one PC and two Cisco 2501 routers. I have all the proper cables and am wondering if I can connect the two 2501's together or will I require some other piece of hardware to access both routers.

Please, let me know of any configurations or recommendations you might have.

Thank You

It's pretty easily done. You need to connect the two routers back to back. The best way is purchase a cabled designed for that, tho' you can make one from two V.35 Cables using male and female ends. You setup the serial ports like this:
!
interface Serial0
ip address 192.1.3.5 255.255.255.0
ip helper-address 192.1.5.255; I needed this for MS stuff
no fair-queue
clockrate 56000;DCE router ports needs to supply the clock
no cdp enable
!

Once you have done this, hook the ethernet port of one router to the PC directly or a hub. Connect the 2nd router via the console cable to the PC. You now have access to everything up to the 2nd routers ethernet port. If you want the 2nd ethernet live, you really need a second PC of some type. I use my laptop for the "remote" network.

Hope this helps

Mike
