How do you send files with sendmail 2

How do you send files with sendmail, as the actual file itself, not the text within file. ie

/usr/lib/sendmail user1@hotmail.com < test.txt

the above just sends the test as as test in an email. i would prefer it as an attachment!!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Cannot send attachments with sendmail directly, you will need a perl or shell script to do it. A shell script called &quot;jail.sh&quot; can be found here which will do the trick:
