Is this possible?

What we need is this...

We need for a user who has a single Outlook profile, to be able to send Email to other recipients, but be able to make the Email appear to have been sent by another Exchange user. Send on-behalf is no good. The Email actually has to appear as if it came from the other exchange user.

Thanks
Darren

Could you not just set up the other user's profile on the persons machine, but not set it to default, and just switch to it when needed?

Or log in as the other user and set up the profile on the pc?

We have considered this possibility. But, they want it to be done from a single profile for convenience. Do you think that this is possible?

Oh right I see what you mean

I know you can assign more than one e-mail address to a user, although I am unsure wether you can assign the same address to two users - I doubt that it can be done, as it will get confused. Also, I do not know how to switch the senders..

I am sure somebody else can shed some light on this though.

You will need to setup multiple profiles. It's quick, easy and I don't see how anyone could consider closing and opening a program to be terribly inconvenient.

It just means my answers are from experience, not a book.

Even easier, assign send as permissions to other accounts and in the new email, View FROM and change the FROM to whatever you want.

Zelandakh,
This does not work, when I try to send the message, it says that I do not have send on behalf permissions for the user.

We need the Email to appear as if it was sent from the original mailbox user with no "Sent on behalf of message..."

Thanks
Darren

Can you detail what you did exactly? I use this all the time for our Enquiries team.

Ok, Zelandakh,
Article ID 327000 on MS's site is what I followed. The lower portion of the tech document tells you how to grant "Send as" permissions.

The only thing I haven't had the chance to do is restart the Information store (if this makes a difference?).

Let me know if you require more detail.

Thanks for helping!
Darren

You don't need to restart the IS..

Try granting full mailbox access and see if the error goes away.
