Hi,

I am running 8.05 on win2000/Pro. I need to remove an instance and the associated services.

Any idea how?

Thanks

Oracle's database assistant has an option to remove a database. That should do most of the clean up for you.

after you remove the Oracle Instance by ODCA, then you also need to remove yout Windows services. You should use "ORADIM" to remove the services include
a) instacne services
b) listener services.

for more detail of "ORADIM" you can just call ORADIM /? for help.

Go to Metalink on the Oracle website and search for 'clean machine' - there are several documents there that will show how to completely remove oracle entries in the registry plus a number of other files that the uninstaller does not get.

In order to remove an instance
1. stop database
2. on OS command prompt use the command
ORADIM -DELETE -SID <sidname>
