How do you remove a siemens phone from the "howler" status?

Siemens phone was left off hook over night and the maintenance routine placed the phone in a "howler" status. How do you remove phone from "howler" status?

Hang up the phone if it's off-hook, if it's not off-hook take the jumper of at the MDF and see if it clears. If it doesn't clear you have a bad line card.

Depending on the system you can usually just deactivate the port and then reactivate it and it will clear. If it comes back there is a problem with the phone or the line. In the caste of 9006 it is DEADSSU type= STNO and use DI for deactivate imemdiately. Then use ACTDSSU type+ STNO and use AUL for reload software.
