I have a mksysb of the node i want to reinstall. its in a file
on the workstation.

Now say my node crash what are the step to getting this mksysb back on the node.

Im going to school but im learning 3.2 pssp and we have 2.4 pssp and i dont start class until may.

I just dont want to mess up the nodes that are running by making a mistake.
thank you

Check out the maunals first....:

This is from my memory...and may miss a step...........
I believe there are many ways to do it...but
on the cws issue the splstdata -b to verify the name of the image that will be used
to install node...
spbootins -r install -i bos.obj.image3 -l node#
or something similar
You could go into setup_server
smitty node_data boot/install server info and change
the image and run setup_server
If no errors...select the node from the SPMON global select
netboot and
do
then log in on serial line with the :
s1term frame_number node_number (i.e. s1term 1 1

when done issue the splstdata -b on the CWS and see if it is set to disk... if still set to install, issue /usr/lpp/ssp/install/bin/pssp_script on the node.

Your class at 3.2 is pretty much the same as 2.4....so what you learn in class will do you just fine....Good luck

Thank you again for your help.
