How do you rack mount CXI

hello

i have got a cxi to install but i cannot mount it in the rack as there are no holes in the bottom and there are not holes in the rack mounts them selfs

Hi Glenn,

I installed a CXI last month into a rack you should have recieved 2 rack brackets the same as a normal 3300 and the CXI just seems to slide and tighten itself, I agree this looks unsafe but could not see any other way of securing the system.

Yes, Ian is correct, the unit just slides into the brackets and sits there.

There is no "official" way to secure the unit, BUT after you install it, and you have something like a small tie-wrap, try threading it through the holes in the side of the unit where the fan is. This will create somewhat of a blockage when moving the unit. It may look a bit bush-league and it won't be strong, but it may prevent the accidental bump that would slide it out.
