How do you prevent pixel distortion? (sprite gfx problem)

I'm making a little "movie" in flash using my own "sprite" graphics (think SNES video games).
I noticed that flash displays the pixel graphics somewhat distorted, even if they are perfectly scale.
What is the reason for certain pixels being shifted?
If the sprite is 100x100 pixels, and set on a 550x400 stage, then the movie is viewed at "normal" (100%) size, there shouldn't be any pixel distortion.
Any tips on this?
I can provide images if necessary, but hopefully someone knows about this.

Hi!
When you say sprite, do you mean a loaded graphic (one you copied or pasted)? If you do, make sure the JPEG quality is set ti maximum (100%). You can adjust this in the movie information and in the publish box.
Happy Flashing,

And a happy new year!

I'm speaking of an imported gif. I have it set to "lossless png/gif" and have "Allow smoothing" unchecked.
