How do you pick up variables using GET URL????

Now that I have your attention(hopefully), it is not as simple as that.
What I am trying to do is pick up some variables, not all, and send them to the next URL on a string. i.e contactus.htm?compass=1&knife=1&water=1 etc. etc...
But what happens when I do this is that it attaches all the variables, like the scrolling text in the first scene which I don't want!
Please help me! I have been struggling with this for ages now!

if you know explicitly what variables you want to send you could make the URL bit an Expression (as opposed to just a string) which would be something like:
"page.htm?knife="+knife+"&compass="+compass
