Have an ACS 3.0 and the first 4 extensions all have static.. Wanted to go inside and see if I could clean anything or unplug and replug anything but can't figure out how to open the housing. doesen't appear to be any screws

Anybody know how to get the module open?

you will see 8 slots with arrows on the back of the processor stick a thin screwdriver in the slot and pry in the direction the arrow points , there are clips there that hold the clamshell togther

takes some practice

when you open it however you are going to find a single board , nothing to clean , unplug or replug . sounds like you have some compotents on the board that have gone.

Thanks Skip, Yep just got inside and dissapointed to find just a big board with nothing for me to service.. Anyways I sprayed some contact cleaner all around the 4 staticy ports.. Doubt it will do anything, but won't hurt to try since its already broke.

I bought the system yesterday and all seemed working great last night when I tested it.. I went to test the 5.0 VS mail this morning that came with it and it was working well too.. I was playing around with the voicemail tutorial and all of a sudden some static appeared and it got progressively worse and louder.. now it is on all of the first 4 ports.. Sucks since it did work fine and I payed for a working unit from a local company in cash.. just bad timing when it chose to die I guess

thats we we burn things in at least 24 hours before taking it to a cutomers site lots of times the problems don't show up untill its been powered on for awhile chances are you could unplug it wait a few hours , power back up with no static then see the static return.

I would be taking it back where it me

Hi kurmann,
Take it back but clean out the contact cleaner first. Warranty may be void.
